Introduction

This blog has been created as an assignment for INFO 263 - Materials for Children with Professor Beth Wrenn-Estes at the San Jose State University iSchool. It aims to evaluate the artistic styles of Christian Robinson and Julie Flett. These relatively new children’s book illustrators have been making waves in the publishing industry with their accurate and respectful images of diverse communities. Christian often sets his illustrations in an urban environment, similar to the one where he grew up. Julie incorporates First Nations language and culture into her illustrations based on her Cree-Metis heritage. The site can be navigated using the main menu bar at the top of the page. Live links are used whenever possible for ease of navigation. All images and videos link back to the source for the material, except for those that I took of the material myself.
