Biography

Christian and his brother were raised by his grandmother in the city. They did not have much money, but his grandmother taught him to count his blessings, and be grateful for what they did have (Gershowitz & Bircher, 2015). He had difficulty in learning to read, and was therefore drawn to books with pictures, particularly Are You My Mother by P.D. Eastman (Danielson, 2012). Christian studied animation in college, later working for Pixar Animation Studios and The Sesame Street Workshop (Robinson, 2015). He currently lives in San Francisco, and works in a shared artist’s studio in an old warehouse with lots of light (Brightly, 2016).
